Before anything, here is the information you will need upon your arrival in Kyoto.
First, about the check-in process. This is actually done in an office near the Kyoto train station. You’ll find all the necessary instructions on how to get to the “Machiya Residence Inn Check-In Desk” here: Check-in Procedure upon your arrival in Kyoto
Be sure to download the file and to read it! You may want to print it and take it with you. Do get in touch directly with our staff, should you not be able to go to the office between 10:00 and 19:00 on the day you arrive. The contact info is as follows: TEL:+81 (0)90-8161-3870 (24/7) and, if the line is busy, 075-708-6907 (10:00-19:00) / Email: info1@kyoto-machiya-inn.com.
Then you’ll find here “Map – Kyoto Station to Gojo Machiya” a map showing you the location of the Gojo Samurai Machiya and instructions on how to get there by taxi (the cost should be about 1,000 yen from Kyoto station.)
Be sure to download this file as it contains the address of the Gojo Machiya and useful information on how to get there.
