March 21st — this is the day of the Kobo-San market at the Toji Temple. When in Kyoto on the 21st of any month, we always try to go there. It’s usually better to go there early as it gets VERY crowded quickly.
The market is the opportunity to find all kind of handicraft stuff, antics, food, junks, curios, and much more. We just love it.
This time, we were very pleased to find out that we could visit the Shossibo Temple within the Toji Temple. This is an opportunity to see some beautiful painting on fusuma (paper door) as well as an incredible garden. Unfortunately, it is still a bit early in the season to have the cherry blossom within this garden, but we’ll go there again within a couple of weeks.
