Izujyu, a Saba Sushi restaurant

  I didn’t try many Sushi restaurants in Kyoto.  For me Sushi is “Edomae” which means a “Tokyo dish”, and it has to be fresh, very fresh.  Kyoto is far from the sea, so they developed a different kind of Sushi like the so-called “Saba Sushi (Mackerel roll sushi)“ .  Mackerel is treated with salt and we find them delicious.  If you want to try, I’d recommend you the place called Izujyu いづ重。

It is located very close to Yasaka Shrine, Gion.  You take the bus 100, 202, 206, 207 to Gion　祇園。
