The Omuro cherry garden of Ninna-ji Temple

This year, the transient beauty of flowers that is so popular in Japan was intense and brief. It started suddenly, earlier than usual, and went all over Kyoto before we could realize we had to hurry to enjoy our favorite spots.

And then we had rain and wind.

And then it was all gone.  The flowers were on the ground.

And the green leaves replaced the white, pink and green cherry flowers.

Now, we have a few pictures to enjoy and remember these beautiful moments, and one  year to be ready for the next Hanami season.
