The beginning of the cherry blossom along the Kamogawa river

Today, we had a beautiful warm, and sunny day.  On the way back from the Kyoto Station, we realized that the cherry trees along the bank of the Kamogawa River were starting to blossom. I came across this same spot a couple of days ago and thought about taking some pictures, to show the progression of the blossom.  And today, it is already too late to show the place without any flowers!

While the flowers are merely starting to blossom on most of the trees, they were already quite big on one of them!  So, I guess I can say that “our little Hanami” season has officially started 😉

The place these pictures were taken is a mere three minutes away from Gojo Machiya.
