We had an amazing array at Akiko’s house. The machiya had everything you could possibly need. There was 4 of us that stayed at Akiko’s, two of us slept on traditional futons on tatami mats and they were surprisingly comfy. The bathroom and kitchen were well appointed. The machiya is close to Tofukuji station and a bus stop, so it’s super easy to get Downtown. Definately will stay again if I’m ever back in Kyoto.
