Beautiful foliage in the garden of Tenryu Temple, Arashiyama

2015 has not been a very good year for 紅葉 (Kôyô), the Autumn foliage colors.  We’ve had some incredibly warm and pleasant days. it has rained more than usual, but overall, the weather has been rather mild and pleasant. But not many red maple leaves around.  In a number of sites and garden, the leaves have started to fall before changing their color.  The main discussion among local photographers visiting temples and shrines was how disappointing this year was.

But we still have visited and enjoyed a number of places. And while not a great year, during the Fall of 2015, we have seen some beautiful trees, some incredible gardens and gorgeous colors. Here is a little series of photos taken in November and the beginning of December around Kyoto.
